Energy Minister Eamon Ryan today announced a new Home Energy Saving Scheme. The Scheme will encourage and incentivise homeowners to improve the energy efficiency of their homes in order to reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.

Required qualifications for Building Energy Rating assessors announced
Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) announced this week that, in an interim scheme to be operated from July-December 2008, Fellow (CEng FIEI), Chartered (CEng MIEI) and Ordinary (MIEI) members of Engineers Ireland qualify as non-domestic Building Energy Rating assessors.
